Jr Mammoths Learn to Play

Want to learn to play hockey? Let the Mammoths show you how! This program is intended for first-time and/or beginner players ages 4-14.
The Jr. Mammoths program is designed as a LEARN-to-play hockey program introducing BEGINNERS to the basic skills of the game in a safe and positive learning environment. It is a fun way to develop hockey specific skills as well as a love for the game of hockey!
There are no games played however on occasion we do allow players to play in a cross ice or full ice scrimmage.
We do have equipment players can use, however not all sizes are available. Please contact our Equipment Manager

LEARN-TO-SKATE PROGRAM
All skaters must have basic skating skills prior to entering the Jr. Mammoths Learn to Play Hockey Program. Completing Snowplow Sam 3, Basic 1, or Hockey 1 from our Learn to Skate program prior to entering Jr. Mammoths Learn to Play Hockey program is highly recommended. Or from many hours from skating at public skate times is highly recommended before entering the Jr. Mammoths Learn to Play Hockey.
We do not allow first time skaters for Jr. Mammoths Learn to Play as we don’t have the coaching staff to provide one on one attention.
Skaters must graduate Jr. Mammoths Learn to Play before they can move on to any of the house, or travel programs in LAHA.

Before enrolling into the Jr. Mammoths Learn to Play Hockey, we recommend any new skaters to first take a beginner skating class (Snowplow Sam 1-3 or Basic 1).
Snowplow Sam 1
Any skaters who have never been in lessons before and are between the ages of 4 and 5 years old will start at this level.
Basic 1
Any skaters who have never been in lessons before and are between the ages of 6 and 14 years old will start at this level.
INTERESTED IN COACHING
We are ALWAYS in need of IP Coaches. Please email the Hockey Director, Rich Gores at goresr@gmail.com if you would be willing to volunteer your time.
We can help direct you with what needs to be done to coach. If you have not already coached before this must be done before stepping on the ice.
